The second painting

I started this painting last week but got a little side-tracked with finishing that giant wall painting. I worked on it all day today so I could get it to a good place visually before I leave for Europe and i couldn't figure out where to take it next. So, I'll just leave it until I return home.

All Day Painter

My work is structured in the form of sentences. It is orientated on the horizontal and read left to right. The images are symbols or hieroglyphics that are revealing a story. However, because of the contextual shift the symbols have undergone, the viewer is invited to create their own story based on the enculturation and experiences of their own life. The shapes underneath provide texture and dimension which I equate to the senses and act as a connection the physical world.

Sparkling

It was so sparkly Sparkly like concrete Such wild flowery words In the middle of the freeway I didn't notice the cars and the trucks and the sparkling concrete Running from it Running to it was the same thing How do I learn the difference When do I learn the difference Where do I learn the difference What color is the difference What shape is the difference What street do I turn on What belly do I go in How come I didn't know this How come I couldn't see that I didn't notice the belly was sparkling
